English language teacher training workshops

20 hours (10 lessons of 2 hours)

This series of workshops will be looking at some of the main areas related to English language teaching, including methodology and materials.

The course is suitable for:

Teachers of secondary school or adult language learners
Content teachers who need to teach their subjects in English, or who want to add language teaching to their portfolio of skills
Language assistants working in similar contexts to the above

The main areas to be covered are listed below:

Lesson planning
Language awareness
Teaching skills
Classroom dynamics
Focus on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)*

*Course participants will have the opportunity to extend the course should they wish to prepare for the Cambridge ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) CLIL module.

Participants are strongly advised to have at least Level B2 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
